Areas of Impact
The Rooted Change initiative seeks to cultivate equitable futures for young people of color by strategically and collaboratively transforming the systems and narratives that have failed them, primarily through the following five areas of impact:
Philanthropic practices (funding, relationships, language, etc.) that align with proven, data-driven strategies for BYMOC and the broader YPOC ecosystem.
Strategic relationships across philanthropic, community, data, and advocacy organizations for young people of color.
Enhanced capacity in addition to the programmatic and grantmaking effectiveness of Rooted Change members.
Strengthened relationships, understanding, and collaboration across gender identity, GYWOC, BYMOC, and other youth serving organizations.
Sustainable advocacy approach and proven influence on systems and decisions at local, state, regional, and/or national levels.
